BRYAN/COLLEGE STATION (TEXAS) CONTRA DANCE
Our next regular dance will be on Friday, August 1, 2008.
It is at the Unitarian Church, 305 Wellborn Road (FM 2154), CS, from 7 to 10 pm.
NOTE that the August dance will be on the first Friday instead of the first
Saturday. This is to allow interested dancers to attend Kaye and Chuck Roth's
50th Anniversary dance in Austin on August 2.
We resume our first Saturday schedule in September.
This website will move to "http://www.bcsdancing.org" in the near future.
NEW SITE
Callers: Lorraine Puckhaber, Rosie and Stan Swanson

Join us for a fun evening!
Contra dance is
suitable for pre-teens to seniors, age range 10 to 70+.
If you can walk and follow directions, you can contra dance.
All dances are taught. It is aerobic exercise to music, in a
smoke and alcohol free setting. You do not have to bring a
partner.
Contra dance comes from the same English country dance tradition
that modern square dancing does. It shares many of the basic
dance patterns. We have a caller to direct the dancers, and
live music when possible.
$5 donation ($3 for students), more graciously accepted.
Special: FREE for first-time dancers, so bring your friends! Come promptly
to get additional beginner's instruction in the first hour.
Dress: casual, wear confortable shoes.
We will normally dance first Saturdays, except in the Fall (when we have to
dodge A&M football games). The normal time will be 7 to 10 pm.in the
evening.
